Men's Basketball
Averaged 22.3 points, 10 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game in NSU's last three games (vs. SCSU, Morgan State, Coppin State)...had a career-high 32 points and 11 rebounds at SCSU...had 17 points and six rebounds in the overtime loss to Morgan State...added 18 points and a career-high tying 13 rebounds in the win over Coppin, his fifth double-double of the season...shot 70 percent from the floor (28-of-40) in the three games.
Women's Basketball
Scored a career-high 20 points in the loss to Morgan State, hitting 9-of-13 from the floor...added 11 points, six rebounds and two blocks in the loss to Coppin State.

NORFOLK, Va. – The Capital Classic bowling tournament scheduled for this weekend in Dover, Del., has been postponed due to the threat of inclement weather. The NSU bowling team was one of 13 squads scheduled to compete in the event.

READING, Pa. – Facing its stiffest competition of the year, the NSU bowling team compiled an 8-7 record last weekend at the Kutztown Invitational.

The three-day event featured 28 teams, including 15 of the top 20 and eight of the top 10 teams in the nation according to the latest National Tenpins Coaches Association (NTCA) poll. NSU (51-34), ranked 19th nationally, more than held its own.

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State women’s bowling team maintained is No. 19 national ranking in the National Tenpins Coaches Association (NTCA) monthly top 20 poll, which was released on Friday.

The Spartans, who made their debut at No. 19 last month, are 43-27 heading into this weekend’s competition at the Kutztown Invitational in Reading, Pa.

01.26 | Women's Bowling

BOWIE, Md. – Led by the hot hand of sophomore Sheila-Marie Smith (Virginia Beach, Va.), the Norfolk State women’s bowling team finished 6-3 at last weekend’s Bowie State Lady Bulldog Classic and placed seventh out of the 19 teams in total pinfall.

Smith knocked down 1,020 pins over Saturday’s five team games (204 average), the highest five-game series for Smith or any Spartan this season.

01.18 | Women's Bowling

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The No. 19 ranked Norfolk State women’s bowling team finished with a 4-6 record this past week at the Terriers New Year Knockdown hosted by St. Francis College.

On Saturday, the Spartans (37-24) showed no rust from their six-week layoff for the semester break. NSU finished the day with perhaps its best team-game showing of the season, notching a 4-1 record with three victories over top-10 teams in last month’s NTCA top 20 poll.

SUMTER, S.C. – The Norfolk State women’s bowling team concluded its MEAC regular-season competition with a 4-4 mark last weekend at the southern division meet hosted by South Carolina State.

The Spartans (33-17, 14-10 MEAC) posted wins over South Carolina State and North Carolina A&T in both team and baker action, while dropping decisions to Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman on both days.
