NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk State volleyball team earned the fourth seed in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference southern division and will take part in the conference tournament for the third consecutive year. The 2009 MEAC Tournament runs from Friday, Nov. 20 to Sunday, Nov. 22 and will be held at the Coppin Center on the campus of Coppin State University in Baltimore, Md.
NSU (8-21, 3-5 MEAC) will take on northern division top seed Maryland Eastern Shore (22-6, 10-0) at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20. The Spartans fell 3-1 to the Lady Hawks in the first round of last year's tournament.
Florida A&M earned the top seed in the southern division, while Bethune-Cookman and South Carolina State were the second and third seeds. Delaware State, Morgan State and Howard wrapped up the second through fourth seeds in the northern division.
