NORFOLK, Va. — Junior Jennifer Chichester (Silver Spring, Md.) placed 20th in 19:51.75 in the Spartans' season opener at the Maryland Eastern Shore Lid-Lifter on Saturday. NSU only fielded four runners in the competition so they could not qualify for a team score.

NSU's other three finishers were senior Tia Miles (Richmond, Va.) (45th, 21:58.01), senior Candace Shoates (Newport News, Va.) (51st, 23:27.44) and sophomore Syeeda Gee (Philadelphia, Pa.) (53rd, 23:52.66).

The Spartans return to action on the 19th at the UVA Lou Onesty Invitational.
