NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State football team begins preparations for its 2010 season on Monday when the Spartans report for training camp.
Sixth-year head coach Pete Adrian expects to have 87 players in camp as the team looks to improve on last season’s 7-4 record and third-place finish in the MEAC.
After reporting Monday morning, the team will have its first workout from 8:30-9:30 p.m. at Dick Price Stadium. The team will begin its normal weekday routine on Tuesday with a 9 a.m. practice at the NSU practice field. That is the standard time for practices through Friday of this week. The team will have its first two-a-day practices on Saturday, which includes a controlled scrimmage at 1:30 p.m. at the NSU practice field off of Majestic Ave.
The Spartans will also have scrimmages on Saturday, Aug. 21 and Friday, Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m. Both are in the stadium.
All sessions are open to the media, but all times and practice locations are subject to change due to weather or field conditions. Please contact the NSU Sports Information office at (757) 823-2628 or mmichalec@nsu.edu to ensure that day’s schedule before attending.
