NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State rising senior offensive lineman Blake Matthews was named Monday to The Sports Network's preseason Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-America first team, the organization announced.

Matthews was a second-team TSN All-American last season after helping the Spartans capture their first-ever MEAC title. As a junior, Matthews started all 12 Spartan games at right tackle and blocked for a productive offensive unit that finished second in the conference in total offense (393.8 yards per game). Matthews was also a first-team All-MEAC selection and the 2011 MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Year last year.
