NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State volleyball program will hold a pair of summer camps from July 9-11 for players going into grades 6-12, an advanced skills camp as well as a camp stressing setting and defense.
The advanced skills camps will take place July 9-10, and the setters and defense camp will be held on July 11. Both will be held at the seven-court Tidewater Volleyball Center in Virginia Beach due to work on the seating inside NSU's Joseph Echols Hall this summer.
Cost of the advanced skills camp runs $125 pre-registration or $135 signing up the day of the camp. The setters and defense camp goes for $50 pre-registration or $60 the day of the camp. Each camp will run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. daily, with an hour break for lunch.
The skills camp offers advanced instruction for passing, setting, attacking, serving and defense and is designed for intermediate and advanced players with at least one year of JV, varsity or USAV junior's experience. The setters and defense camp will concentrate on the skill sets related to those two areas and is open to all players.
All courts will be led by NSU coaches and players, and a certified athletic trainer will be on site throughout the duration of the camps.
