Noah Schlekeway is in his second year at Norfolk State after joining the department in June 2024 as Assistant Director of Sports Communications. He serves as the primary contact for women’s basketball, men’s and women’s track & field, and cross country, while also serving as the secondary contact for football.
Before coming to Norfolk State, Schlekeway spent two years at Wayne State College as a Sports Information Graduate Assistant, assisting with all 13 varsity programs. He managed gameday statistics across multiple sports, created media guides, and produced written and digital content.
Schlekeway also gained experience at Augustana University as an Athletic Communications Intern, working with women’s golf, swimming & diving. Schlekeway began his career as a student worker in Wayne State’s Sports Information Department, assisting with statistics, video board operations, and media projects.
In addition to his collegiate work, Schlekeway has contributed to several high-profile events, including the NAIA Men’s Basketball Championships, NCAA Division II Regional and National Tournaments, the Summit League Basketball Tournament, and Volleyball Day in Nebraska.
A Sioux Falls, S.D., native, Schlekeway earned both his bachelor’s degree in sport management (2022) and his master’s degree in sport and recreation management (2024) from Wayne State College.
