Men's Basketball
Averaged 22.3 points, 10 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game in NSU's last three games (vs. SCSU, Morgan State, Coppin State)...had a career-high 32 points and 11 rebounds at SCSU...had 17 points and six rebounds in the overtime loss to Morgan State...added 18 points and a career-high tying 13 rebounds in the win over Coppin, his fifth double-double of the season...shot 70 percent from the floor (28-of-40) in the three games.
Women's Basketball
Scored a career-high 20 points in the loss to Morgan State, hitting 9-of-13 from the floor...added 11 points, six rebounds and two blocks in the loss to Coppin State.

NORFOLK, Va. – Delaware State guard Marcus Neal scored 12 of his 16 points after halftime, and host Norfolk State went more than 11 minutes with a point in the second half of a 54-52 loss at Echols Hall on Monday.

The loss snapped a two-game win streak for the Spartans (5-17, 4-6 MEAC), who got a game-high 18 points from Michael Deloach (Rocky Mount, N.C.).



Raychele Payne had a game-high 15 points against DSU.

NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk State senior guard Michael Deloach (Rocky Mount, N.C.) was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Deloach averaged 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals in helping the Spartans to a pair of MEAC wins, over Coppin State and Maryland Eastern Shore.

NORFOLK, Va.Michael Deloach (Rocky Mount, N.C.) hit a short jumper with 3.9 seconds left to give host Norfolk State a 64-62 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday afternoon at Echols Hall.

Deloach scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half to help the Spartans (5-16, 4-5 MEAC) win their second straight game.

NORFOLK, Va. — April McBride scored a game-high 20 points, while Chena Parker had a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds to carry the Maryland Eastern Shore women’s basketball team to a ¬76-56 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference win over Norfolk State on Saturday afternoon at Echols Hall. With the win, UMES improved to 8-11 over and 5-4 in the MEAC while NSU fell to 3-15, 0-8.

The game started on a bad note for the Lady Hawks as they were assessed a technical foul to start the game for failing to report the game starters prior to the game. But UMES got off the hook when Tyisha Bridges (Greensboro, N.C.) missed both free throws.

NORFOLK, Va. – Due to the threat of another winter weather system in the Hampton Roads area, Saturday’s MEAC basketball doubleheader between Norfolk State and Maryland Eastern Shore at Joseph Echols Hall has been moved up four hours. The women’s game will now tip off at noon, and the men’s game will begin at 2 p.m. Doors will open at 11 a.m.

NORFOLK, Va. – The Capital Classic bowling tournament scheduled for this weekend in Dover, Del., has been postponed due to the threat of inclement weather. The NSU bowling team was one of 13 squads scheduled to compete in the event.
