“Pack the House”, Harlem MagicMasters Highlight Basketball Battle of the Bay

NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk State basketball teams return to Joseph Echols Hall this weekend for their first home games of the second semester. The Spartans face Hampton University in the Basketball Battle of the Bay this Saturday, Jan. 16. The women's game tips off at 4 p.m. and the men at 6 p.m.

Members of the Harlem MagicMasters will perform at halftime of both games. Founded in 2003 and based in New York City, the MagicMasters are a group of some of the USA's most accomplished basketball players who are not only gifted athletes, but also goodwill ambassadors of the sport and active mentors to youth. The team was founded by Jack Bryant, a former all-conference player at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The MagicMasters combine competitive basketball skills with entertaining skits, above the rim slam-dunks and amazing ball-handling routines, all to the driving beat of contemporary music.

Saturday's game is also Pack the House Day. Pack the House is a national effort among NCAA teams where conferences and schools compete to build attendance. NSU fans are encouraged to wear their Green & Gold for the chance to win prizes.
