NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk State women’s tennis team posted a convincing 7-0 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Sunday at the NSU Tennis Complex.

The Spartans (3-9) cruised through the doubles matches winning each one 8-0. They also swept the singles matches in straight sets for their second consecutive win of the season.

Brittany Foster (Norfolk, Va.), Chenge Tsapayi (Harare, Zimbabwe), Silvia Panush (Sofia, Bulgaria) and Rebecca Graff (Bastad, Sweden) each had 6-0, 6-0 singles wins, while Jennifer Astbury (Chesapeake, Va.) won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 1 singles and Naeemah Brooks (Galloway, N.J.) defeated Latoya Coltrane 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.

NSU continues its season-long homestand on Wednesday with a 1 p.m. match against Liberty.
