NORFOLK, Va. – Senior Raphael Hall (Chesapeake, Va.) will represent Norfolk State in the men's high jump at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Friday at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.
The high jump competition begins at 3:30 p.m. Pacific time on Friday (6:30 p.m. ET). Hall, who is making his second career appearance at the NCAA outdoor meet, is one of 24 competitors aiming to finish in the top eight and earn All-American honors.
Hall tied for eighth place two weeks ago at the NCAA East Regional with a top height of 6 feet, 11 inches, earning him one of 12 berths from the region to the national meet. Those 12 join 12 more qualifiers from the West Regional to comprise the championship field at this week's national meet.
Hall advanced to the high jump finals at the NCAA outdoor meet in 2008, finishing 15th. This season under the new format, there is only one round for the high jump.
