Calton Ford Agrees to Free Agent Contract with Cleveland Browns

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State University offensive lineman Calton Ford has agreed to terms on a free agent NFL contract with the Cleveland Browns.

Ford will report to Cleveland today and is expected to be in training camp on Friday.

Ford was a four-year starter along the offensive line for the Spartans. He played in all 45 games in his career, starting 43 times. He proved to be one of the more versatile linemen for NSU, starting eight games at left guard and three at right tackle last season. In his previous three seasons, Ford started 35 times at right tackle, earning second-team All-MEAC honors as a junior in 2009.

Ford becomes one of three Spartans currently under NFL contract, joining defensive backs Don Carey and Terrell Whitehead (both with the Jacksonville Jaguars).
