Spartan Fan Zone to Include Motown Review, Motorcycle & Antique Car Shows at Upcoming Home Games

NORFOLK, Va. – The Spartan Fan Zone will feature Chester B's Motown Review Tribute Band and Show on Saturday, Oct. 1 prior to the NSU-South Carolina State Fish Bowl Classic football game.

The show features over 20 of Hampton Roads top singers and entertainers and is free with a game ticket or NSU student ID. The show will feature tributes to the Temptations, Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Mary Wells, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Gladys Knight and the Pips, and more. Showtime starts at 1:30 p.m., but the Zone opens at noon (closing at 3 p.m.).

The Spartan Fan Zone is located inside the Marty L. Miller Baseball Field on campus. It offers three hours of unadulterated entertainment to include giveaways, live radio remotes and free food sampling in addition to the Motown Review on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Other activities inside the Spartan Fan Zone on Oct. 1 include a custom motorcycle show. Individuals and organizations interested in displaying their motorcycle(s) and competing for prizes can register by downloading an entry form from the official NSU athletics website, www.nsuspartans.com. The custom motorcycle contest will run from noon until 3 p.m. in the Marty L. Miller Baseball Field. The football game, featuring Norfolk State vs. South Carolina State, will kick off at 4 p.m. in Dick Price Stadium. All awards and prizes will be presented during the game.

A similar event featuring custom and antique cars is scheduled for the Oct. 15 as part of the NSU vs. Hampton State Farm Battle of the Bay events. The entry fee is $30 and prizes will be awarded. The fee also includes a ticket for the game and access to the hospitality tent during the game. The cars will be on display from noon until 3 p.m. in the Spartan Fan Zone in the Marty Miller Baseball Field. The football game, featuring Norfolk State vs. Hampton in their annual battle for bragging rights, will kick off at 4 p.m. in Dick Price Stadium.
