NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State women's basketball team was picked to finish ninth in the conference in the preseason voting done by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
The Spartans received 278 points. Howard finished first with 637 points and 15 of the 26 first-place votes, Hampton was second with 597 points and 7 first-place votes, and Coppin State was third with 493 points and one first-place vote. The other teams that finished above NSU were Florida A&M, North Carolina A&T, Maryland Eastern Shore, South Carolina State, and Bethune Cookman.
