Norfolk State Tennis at Cape Henry Racquet Club

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State tennis program is hosting a tennis clinic and Pro-Am on Thursday at the Cape Henry Racquet Club in Virginia Beach, Va. The cost is $20 for the clinic and $20 for the Pro-Am.

The tennis clinic will run from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and will afford participants an opportunity to learn various drills for all levels and ages. The Pro-Am matches will begin at 6 p.m. NSU tennis players will face-off with a club member or community supporter and play out a small tournament. There will also be an exhibition with the team after play ends.

The men's competition will feature Dzmitry Zyhmantovich, who was named the MEAC Rookie of the Year, as well as Robin Riethmueller, Igor Braga, Peter Ramstromer-Pello, Daniel Grauel and Samuel Lemberger. On the women's side, Yvonne Kamegne, Andrea Macchiavello and Mafalda Lhorca will participate.

NSU head coach Nate Feldman, along with assistant coach Torrie Browning will be leading the clinic. Feldman was selected as the MEAC Tennis Coach of the Year. He led the men's program to a 12-8 regular season record, including a 3-1 mark in conference play. NSU, Florida A&M and South Carolina State finished in a three-way tie for first place in the MEAC South after regular-season play was complete, marking the first time the Spartans have earned a share of a MEAC regular-season divisional title.
