NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State University Athletics Department is now accepting tailgating reservations for the 2014 football season. 

The cost for a 22 feet x 22 feet space for season ticket holders for the entire season (four games) is $200. Cost is $60 for a single game. There will not be tailgating available for the Thursday night, Nov. 6 televised game with Bethune-Cookman due to classes and activities on campus during the day.

Non-season ticket holders will be charged $320 to tailgate at all four home games and $90 per individual game. Recreation vehicles (RVs) will be charged $100 per game.  Vending of food or other merchandise in tailgate areas is prohibited. 

The approved tailgating areas are across from the NSU tennis courts (band practice field), the outside basketball courts behind Marty L. Miller Baseball Field and the grass area beyond the Marty L. Miller Field fence. Beginning this year, the approved tailgating areas will open four hours prior to kickoff. All tailgating activities must conclude 30 minutes prior to kickoff. No tailgating during the game or at halftime will be permitted. The tailgating area will close two hours after the end of each home football game. Any violation of these guidelines will result in the cancellation of any future tailgating privileges and the forfeiture of any prepaid expenses for the remainder of the season. 

The Spartans' 2014 home opener is Saturday, Sept. 6 at 4 p.m. against Liberty.
