NORFOLK, Va. | The Norfolk State University Spartan softball team returns to action on Wednesday, March 22, when they travel to Hampton University for the Battle of the Bay - Softball style.
The Spartans (10-11) head into the midweek doubleheader after going 2-1 against the Bison of Howard University, the 2022 MEAC Softball Champions. After dropping the first game of the series, 7-4, NSU won the next two games, 9-1 in six-innings and 11-3 in five-innings.
NSU is led by fifth-year senior
Lily Potter at the plate with a .324 batting average with nine runs on 12 hits, a pair of doubles and seven RBI. Senior pitcher
Alexis Robinson leads the Spartans in the circle pitching 63.1 innings.
Only three Spartans have started all 21 games so far this season in #11

Norfolk State and Hampton will meet up for a midweek doubleheader on March 22 with game times set for 1 PM and 3 PM at the Lady Pirates Softball Stadium in Hampton, VA. The meeting between NSU and HU will be the 120th/121st playing of the Battle of the Bay. Hampton holds the series lead 75-43-1.
