Matt Owens is entering his first season as an assistant coach on the Norfolk State University baseball coaching staff.
Owens joins the Spartans after spending the last three seasons as a member of the coaching staff at Chestnut Hill College - his alma mater.

During his tenure with the Griffins, he worked with hitters and defense; he also served as the program’s Head JV coach. Over the previous three seasons Owens tutored five All-CACC players, three All-East region players, and the 2022 CACC Rookie of the Year.
Prior to CHC, Owens spent one season as an assistant coach at Camden County College. Owens mentored two All-Region players while serving as the team’s hitting coach.
He received his bachelor’s degree in communication from Chestnut Hill College in 2018 and a master’s degree in sport management from Wilmington University in 2020.
